Valley ready for Wednesday return following flood issues
VALLEY is forced to miss a fourth successive meeting on Sunday stretching back to the flooding caused by Storm Bert last weekend but it will be all systems go from Wednesday onwards.
The flood waters eventually subsided in midweek allowing remedial work to begin in earnest as Richard Brankley, head of greyhound operations for SIS, explained.
He said: “It was the sight of the hare rail on Tuesday rather than a returning dove that confirmed the flood waters had finally subsided.
"It has been a Herculean effort this week by the whole team at Valley to reinstate the track and carry out the necessary repairs and testing following the devastating impact of Storm Bert.
"The circuit is now as good as new and will be racing as normal next week – Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday.”
