Time Greyhound Nutrition back Towcester's £15K TV Trophy
Bubbly Inferno landed the 2024 TV Trophy at Oxford for Paul Young & The Champagne Club

TIME Greyhound Nutrition are to sponsor one of greyhound racing’s most famous races, the TV Trophy, which starts over Towcester's demanding 942m course on Sunday 16th March.

The marathon showpiece, won at Oxford last year by Paul Young’s Bubbly Inferno, will return to the Northamptonshire track for the first time since Patrick Janssens’ Goldies Hotspur won in 2017, and a fourth time in all.

Time Greyhound Nutrition’s Willie Rigney said: “We are looking forward to returning to Towcester to support one of the great races in the sport.

“The TV Trophy has a huge profile among the greyhound community in the UK and Ireland - and if you’re a certain age you’d have grown up watching dogs like Scurlogue Champ, Sandy Lane and Minnies Siren win on TV.

“More recently, the likes of Aayamza Royale, the much-missed Space Jet -  she was something else - and Bellmore Sally have all become stars for winning the TV Trophy - twice where Aayamza Royale is concerned.

Bubbly Inferno (T4) set a new track record for Oxford's 847m course in last year's final

“And even last year, that battle between Bubbly Inferno and Ballymac Taylor was one of the races of the year in the UK - and it looks as if these two outstanding marathon bitches will be back this year to go head to head again!”

Billy Brennan from Towcester Racecourse said: "Thanks to Time Greyhound Nutrition for their support and sponsorship of this prestigious competition.

"We look forward to hosting an outstanding renewal and the fantastic prizemoney should attract the very best marathon dogs in training."

The Time Greyhound Nutrition TV Trophy closes to entries on Wednesday 12th March 12, and will be run over 942m on the following two Sundays.
