Taylor is quickest in TV Trophy heats as Class of '24 stands firm

BALLYMAC TAYLOR was fastest as all three Time Greyhound Nutrition TV Trophy heats over 942m at Towcester went to market leaders.
Completing a double for champion trainer Mark Wallis, who had earlier scored with Mongys Wild, the track record holder and 2024 TV Trophy runner-up was heavily-supported into 8/15F for heat three and her supporters were always on good terms with themselves as she raced prominently from the off.
Never worse than third, she powered into the lead at the penultimate turn and came home fully ten lengths clear of Alright Gordy in clocking 58.01sec as she took her record over the course and distance to five wins in five starts.
Earlier, kennelmate Mongys Wild made a winning marathon debut when dominating throughout the final lap in heat two as he beat Alright Patricia by three and a half lengths in 58.31sec, the runner-up ensuring that trainer Dave Lewis, also trainer of Alright Gordy, would match Wallis with two in the decider.
The opening heat was by far the tightest affair with Paul Young's reigning champion Bubbly Scorcher just repelling the renewed challenge of Dan Brabon's long-time prominent outsider Swift Delta to score by a short-head in 58.50sec.
The qualification Bubbly Inferno, Ballymac Taylor and Alright Patricia means that the 2024 first, second and sixth are in the final once again.
Ht 1 - 1st T2 Bubbly Inferno 58.50sec, trainer Paul Young
Ht 2 - 1st T2 Mongys Wild 58.31sec, trainer Mark Wallis
Ht 3 - 1st T3 Ballymac Taylor 58.01sec, trainer Mark Wallis
