SIS announces arrangements around November 5th fireworks

SIS is to showcase an Irish double-header on the evening of Tuesday 5th November when UK tracks will not race due to Bonfire Night and associated fireworks.

Tralee makes a one-off move from its regular Tuesday morning slot and will be joined by an additional fixture at Youghal, while the Doncaster evening meeting switches to the morning.

Additionally, with November 5th falling midweek this year, SIS has also acted to ensure the weekend evenings either side are unaffected.

On both Friday 1st November and Friday 8th November, Oxford, which is in a residential location, will race in the afternoon rather than the evening.

Saturdays 2nd and 9th November see Oxford switch from evenings to mornings with Towcester moving from morning to afternoon.

Richard Brankley, head of greyhound operations for SIS, said: "We've made sensible adjustments to the schedule for tracks that could be affected by local firework activity.

"The great flexibility of our scheduling is shown by the fact we will still be able to offer a double header of live racing on November 5th from Tralee and Youghal.”

In an unrelated change, Valley's Tuesday meeting switches to Wednesday afternoons with immediate effect.
