Racing offices given ability to conduct automated trap draws

THE GBGB has announced that racing offices will shortly have the ability to conduct automated trap draws through the new Racing Office System [ROS] which has been rolled out over the past few months in collaboration with Racing and Sports.

The first phase involves minor open races and competition finals with a racing office only able to draw each race once and the GBGB continuing to complete redraws when required.

Mark Moisley, GBGB’s commercial director, said: "The primary aim of the GBGB ROS has been to enhance procedures whilst protecting the integrity of our fantastic sport and this new feature further enables us to achieve this."

Just last week, GBGB trainer representative Peter Harnden shared a video on social media platform 'X' showing the current trap draw process.

The GBGB did go through a spell of live-streaming the trap draws for major Category One competitions but the YouTube channel used has not been operational since February 2019.
