Racenight Mikey Locke-bound after £10,000 Towcester sale

RACENIGHT MIKEY (Ballymac Cashout - Dunquin Anna Apr23) topped the Greyhound Trader Towcester 'Puppy Derby' sale on Monday 23rd September when 28 lots were sold for a total of just over £64,000.

The unraced youngster, who just has one official mark on his card in the shape of a 28.87sec Limerick trial, was purchased online for £10,000 after clocking a second best-of-day 29.58sec (normal) over 500m and is understood to be heading to Maxine Locke for a new syndicate.

Memoir (Ballymac Bolger-Unlock Unlock Dec22), part of a consignment from Brendan Matthews' Townview Kennels, fetched £8,000 online from Allan Power after winning her trial in 29.61sec. She has one Shelbourne trial on her Irish card, clocking 28.88sec.

Fastest of the day was Matthews' five-time winner Dusty Chief who clocked 29.51sec ahead of kennelmate Da Cornetto (sold for £4,000) but the March 2022 dog did not reach his reserve of £5,000.

Other notable sales on the day included Unlock Queen (£5,300), Bloody Flawless (£5,000) and Magical Jacob (£4,000).
