Josepe goes fastest in Kirby but betting now headed by Faypoint

TOOLMAKER JOSEPE set an early second round standard in the €80,000 Con & Annie Kirby Memorial over 525 yards at Limerick.
Leading home a one-two for trainer Robert Gleeson in the opening heat, Toolmaker Josepe beat kennelmate Droopys Deploy by one and a half lengths in 28.19sec with UK challenger Ballymac Lucia just a short-head away to qualify in third.
Faypoint Ranger was a mere three spots behind on the clock when making all in heat five for Graham Holland, the trainer subsequently completing a double with heat seven winner Brideside Bill (28.35sec).
In all, six of the eight winners posted times within 16 spots of each other.
The competition continues on Saturday with the quarter-final action live on sisracing.tv as it is all the way through to the final on 19th April.
