Next up was the Townview Kennels Derby Plate over 500m with Graham Holland's Faypoint Susie making all in the opener.

The second was declared void when the hare had to be stopped close to the winning line with Queen Joni in control due to a first bend incident which saw Faypoint Harvey and Jaytee Etienne take tumbles.

Sadly, Jaytee Etienne suffered a serious leg injury in the incident and, despite best efforts, Paul Hennessy's Maiden Derby winner could not be saved.

Faypoint Harvey was withdrawn from a scheduled re-run on Tuesday meaning Clona Curly, Kilara Roberto and Queen Joni all automatically progress to the final.

Saturday's final: 1 Faypoint Susie, 2 Druids All Go, 3 Wrighty, 4 Queen Joni, 5 Kilara Roberto (m), 6 Clona Curly (m).

SF1 - 1st T1 Faypoint Susie (28.94sec), trainer Graham Holland (Ire)
