AERO SACUNDAI (5-4F) credited trainer Richie Taberner with a first Category One victory by claiming the £10,000 BetGoodwin Pall Mall final over 450m at Oxford.

The race was effectively won and lost at the opening turn as the market leader capitalised on his inside draw to barge challenging Madabout Peck, backed from a morning 20-1 and opening show 8-1 into 4-1, out of the way.

Always in control from that point, Aero Sacundai went on to score by two and a half lengths from Long Fellow in 26.52sec with Droopys Hanover almost four lengths back in third.

Highlight of the supporting card was a track record victory for Kim Billingham's Magical Luna in the 847m marathon.

Leading from the opening turn on her eight-bend debut, she powered on to beat Lamorna Amaze by almost five lengths in 52.21sec, an improvement of 16 spots on the previous mark set by Bubbly Inferno in landing the TV Trophy in March.

Also noteworthy was the six-bend winning debut of Diane Henry's Northern Puppy Derby champion Clona Curly who made all over 650m to beat kennelmate Burj Khalifa by almost five lengths in a smart 39.34sec.
